While our curriculum documents offer a general overview of what Laramie County School District 2 students will learn, curriculum maps visually organize content, skills, vocabuary, assessments, and resources that students will experience during specific timeframes. Curriculum maps are used to ensure horizontal alignment between classrooms of the same grade or course and vertical alignment between subsequent grades or courses. They can indicate if the course sequence effectively scaffolds and prepares students to achieve the learning outcomes. Curriculum map analysis can lead to curricular changes to improve student learning opportunities. Curriculum map development is never 'finished.' It is ongoing to improve quality of instruction and student learning.
