Information Regarding the Recreation Mill
The primary purpose of the Laramie County School District #2 (LCSD#2) Recreation District is to maintain present facilities, develop future facilities, and to support programs that provide recreational value for students and the community.
The recreation district is funded primarily by the 1 mill on the assessed valuation of the school district levied by the LCSD#2 Board of Trustees pursuant to W.S. 18-9-201. The LCSD#2 Board of Trustees has the discretion to levy the recreation 1 mill each year. At the July 8, 2019 Budget Hearing, the LCSD#2 Board of Trustees approved a 1 mill on the assessed valuation of the school district to be used for Recreation within the boundaries of Laramie County School District #2.
In an effort to improve the quality of life and provide for indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the district, the LCSD#2 Recreation Board of Directors is soliciting applications for the 2020 recreation grant funding.
Procedures for Grant Applications
Applications for funding can be submitted by LCSD#2, or any other person or entity residing or operating within the boundaries of LCSD#2. The proposals must be accompanied by a full accounting of expenditures of funds and contain adequate information to permit the board to make an informed decision concerning the funding of each application.
Completed applications, with any attachments that provide additional information, should be returned to the LCSD#2 Business Manager no later than 4:00 p.m. January 30, 2020 to be considered for funding. Applications can be submitted to the LCSD #2 Business Office, 311 East 8th Street, P.O. Box 489, Pine Bluffs, Wyoming 82082 or emailed to email@example.com.
The Recreation Board will meet no later than the end of March of 2020 to review and approve applications. Each applicant will be notified via email if the board approved funding for their request.
For approved applications, disbursements will be made in accordance with the fiscal procedures set in place by the Recreation Board. Detailed receipts/invoices must be dated after the grant has been awarded and are required prior to the disbursement of funds. For recipients other than the school district, receipts/invoices must be submitted no later than November 30th of the year the grant is awarded to receive reimbursement. Any balance remaining after November 30th will be forfeited.
Recipients of the grant must complete an end of grant report which includes an explanation of how the grant was spent, a full accounting of expenditures and how many people received benefit from the grant. This report, which can be found below, must be submitted prior to being eligible for any future funding.
