Get to Know Mrs. McCormack
Hello there! My name is Mrs. McCormack aka Mrs. Mack. I attended the University of Wyoming earning my Elementary Education Bachelor of Arts degree. I student taught under Mrs. Minerva VanArsdale at Linford Elementary School at ACSD1. I began my teaching career in 2005 as a Literacy Interventionist at Pioneer Elementary School at Morgan County RE-3. I also taught second grade at Pioneer Elementary. Missing my home state of Wyoming, I accepted a second-grade teaching opportunity at Beitel Elementary at ACSD1. I taught for three years as a second-grade teacher at Beitel Elementary and one year as Beitel Elementary's Literacy Instructional Facilitator/ Reading First Coach. The 2017-2018 school-year was my seventh year teaching at Pine Bluffs Elementary at LCSD2. I have taught fourth grade, third grade, and second grade. I will be teaching first grade at Burns Elementary in LCSD2. In 2008 I earned a Master of Science degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy from Walden University. Future educational plans include earning a Master of Science degree in Science Education from the University of Wyoming as well as a Master of Art degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
My husband, Randy McCormack, grew up in Pine Bluffs. Being an ornery child, he is beside himself that he married someone who taught where he once lived. Randy and I have two dogs: Bear, a black Labradore, and Goose, a yellow Labradore. These two pups are in charge; Randy and I just fill the watering dish, give food and treats, and open doors. This summer Randy and I adopted an infant. We are beyond estatic!
I have tons of hobbies! I love to travel. I have been to eight countries outside of the United States: Spain, Italy, France, Greece, Monaco, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas. I have visited over half of the states, and no, I am not counting airports. I really enjoy camping, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, rafting, archery, fly-fishing, but my favorite outdoor activity is snowboarding. Other hobbies of mine include nature photography, reading, visiting family and friends, and being silly.
