Year-long focus:  This year in English 7 we will be searching for the answer to the question:  Is literature a true reflection of life?  In other words, what aspects of personality, relationships, our surroundings, and our conflicts are echoed in literature, even if we read fantasy, science-fiction, or graphic novels?

Unit 1:  Characters with Character:  In this unit we will explore how authors make characters believable.  In the context of the Middle Ages, students will read excerpts for the novel, The Midwife's Apprentice, and meet a young nameless girl.  The reader will follow her transformation from a marginalized being to one who is important.  We will think about how historical context is important in creating the believability of a novel but also a character.

  • Unit 1-District Assessment

This week we will be reviewing and taking Unit 1's District Assessment.  Please be sure that all of your work is done and handed in to your folders so that I may grade.

Get a good night's rest and eat breakfast in the morning!

    And, remember, you got this!
