Superintendent Jon Abrams

Welcome to the Laramie County School District #2 website.  It is my desire that this website be informative and helpful and keeps you informed about activities and events in the school district.

Our District is located in the southeast corner of Wyoming.  We serve four elementary schools in Albin, Burns, Carpenter and Pine Bluffs.  We also have two high schools located in Burns and Pine Bluffs.  Our dedicated teachers and staff serve a student population of approximately 1,050.

The Vision of our District is “to be the Premier College and/or Career Readiness Center in the state of Wyoming.”  We cannot do this unless we work collaboratively with all stakeholder groups. My personal committment is that we always put students first in every decision that we make. To that end I'm committed.  All decisions in the school district will focus on how we can prepare our students to be successful and fulfill whatever their dreams are as they graduate from high school.

This is the fourth year that we as a district are on a four day calendar. We have made some changes after the first year. Two hours on most Fridays are blocked out for students who need additional help. Staff professional development takes place after the two hours spent with students. As required by state statute, we will be seeking input from all stakeholders as to whether or not we stay with the four day calendar.

Please know that I welcome the opportunity to visit with patrons about any concerns they may have.  It is my responsibility to make sure we provide students with a safe school environment where they can flourish and become the young men and women they want to be.  Thank you to the patrons, staff, and most importantly; the students, who make this such a wonderful place to be.
