Consolidated Grant Meeting

January 8th, 2019 - 7:30 am at Burns Elementary School. A brief overview of the Grant Funding Program will be discussed and questions will be answered.

Standards-based Grading

Carpenter Elementary School will be hosting their annual kindergarten screening on Thursday, April 19, 2018! If your child will be five years old by 9.15.18 we invite you to make an appointment to have him/her screened for the fall kindergarten class! Please call the secretary to set up a time at 245.4180!

Change for Change

The student council has orgaized a fundraiser for children suffering from cancer with the Leukemia and Lymphona Society. This fundraiser will take place the week of Valentine's Day. February 12 - 15 will include dress-up thems as well as a coin donation theme.

We will have a complete week of school, Monday thru Friday for all students.  There will be no ALEX program available on Friday.

Due to the Solar Eclipse, the first day of school will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Carpenter Elementary!  School starts at 8:00 a.m. Breakfast is available at 7:45 a.m. School will conclude at 3:30 p.m. 

Since school is starting on Tuesday, rather than Monday, there will be a regular school day on Friday, August 25th,  for ALL STUDENTS from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

Student Handbooks On-Line

Carpenter Elementary is offering the 2017.18 student/parent handbook on line. If you look at the Quick Link column on the lower right side of this page you will find "2017.18 Handbook. In an effort to save on copy and paper expenses we hope you will accept this method. If you need a hard copy, please let the office know and we will provide you a copy. 


Carpenter Elementary will host their Back To School Fair on Thursday, August 17th, 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. This is your opportunity to register your child for the 2017.18 school year! If you were mailed student profile sheets, meal program applications, etc. please be sure and bring your completed forms!  This evening also offers you a chance to meet your child's teacher, tour the school, and talk to the bus department about your child's bus route. We look forward to seeing each and everyone of you!

Credit Recovery

Credit recovery for students in grades 7-12 is to be done on Fridays.  For that reason, credit recovery will NOT be offered in June.  Jumpstart for grades K-7 is set for early August.

Open Enrollment for Staff BCBS Health Insurance

Open enrollment for BCBS Health Insurance will take place from 11/1/16-11/30/16

       All eligible employees and their dependents that haven’t already enrolled may complete a new application during this time and enroll effective 1/1/17

In November staff who don’t have the health insurance can add it, or add or drop dependents. The effective date is January 1st

All Employees were recently emailed the necessary forms.  Please have all forms returned to Jenny Pratt no later than November 30th.

If you already have the BCBS Health Insurance you do not need to do anything at this time, unless you wish to add or drop dependents.

March 7-11th is National School Breakfast Week! MAKE THE GRADE WITH SCHOOL BREAKFAST!  Eating a nutritious breakfast helps students achieve success in the classroom and beyond. If you haven't tried a school breakfast, please consider it! Breakfast is served from 7:45 - 8:00 each day and costs $1.90 for full pay students and .30 for reduced students. An additional choice will be added to the menu for this week...a muffin with string cheese. The food service staff will be holding a contest for students with activity sheets that contain crosswords and or word serches. Students will receive ONE entry sheet each day they eat breakfast. Winners will be chosen by the Food Service staff on Monday, March 14th. There will be 3 winners from each school,receiving a small prize. All students may enter a national contest, "Create an Ad for School Breakfast" art contest. Students who would like to participate can download the entry form form our district website. On Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 CES will be celebrating National Read Across America Day. CES Student Council has planned a fun afternoon full of reading activities for all grades K - 6. To help celebrate, your child is allowed to wear comfortable clothes/pajamas to school on this day and bring a pillow or blanket to do some reading. If you would like to come into the school at 2:15 and read with your child we welcome all parents. Also, our CES Watch D.O.G.S. have offered to help us with some of the activities. PBES Construction Bid

The Laramie County School District Board of Trustees will be voting on the acceptance of the construction and abatement bid for Pine Bluffs Elementary School at the Committee of the Whole meeting on February 3, 2016.  This meeting will be held at Burns High School, 7:00 p.m.  


School will be dismised at 12:30 PM on December 22nd for Christmas vacation. School will resume on Monday, January 4, 2016!


Friday school dates for ALL students are April 1, 2016 and May 27, 2016. These are normal school days and every student is expected to attend school as usual!


EVERY student will have school on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

LCSD#2 Transportation / Inclement Weather Procedure

LCSD#2 will strive to have any school cancellations or late starts posted by 5:30 a.m. on the district website (www. Laramie2.org) followed by a district wide all-call. The media will be contacted shortly thereafter. Please check the district website before calling transportation dispatch, as this is a high call volume time. The website will contain the most up to date information.



Advanc Ed School Improvement Survey

Carpenter Elementary is working hard to help our students to become successful in their educational life. We are inviting some students to come and work with us in small groups on "orange" Fridays during the school year. A spring green letter on the first Tuesday of the month will be sent home in Tuesday Folders with students that we want to work with. Please fill out this "spring green" paper and return it the next day so we can let the transportation department arrange a bus schedule. We will then send a hot pink note home as to where your child needs to catch the bus usually on Thursday. Please call if you did not receive this note from your child and for directions & times! Students will arrive at Carpenter Elementary at approximately 8:00 AM and proceed into the school and go to their classrooms. Breakfast nor lunch will be served. The students will work on the skills needed until 10:00 AM. They will then board the bus and the parents will meet the bus at the designated times and locations.

K-6 will also be attending the BHS parade set to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24th. More information will be sent home in Tuesday folders!

Flu Shot Clinic Cartoon nurse helping children

Cheyenne Laramie County Health Dept. will be at Carpenter on 9/29 from 10:30AM to 12:00 PM to administer Flu vaccines. They will bill your insurance so please bring your insurance cards.  They also have shingles vaccine for people 60 years and older free of charge.  If you want a flu shot and/or shingles shot then  please let Nurse Kay know so that she can let LCHD know. PICTURE RE-TAKES Calendar picture

LifeTouch will be retaking photographs on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 8:00 AM. Ordering information will be sent home when made available to us. Pictures must be ordered and paid for in advance!smiley
